Growing up in Santa Barbara, Summer was always our favorite time of year. It meant endless days jumping between Butterfly and Santa Claus Beach, and obviously NO SCHOOL!
But one the best parts of every Summer started the first Wednesday in August. It was a celebration known as Fiesta, and it was started to celebrate the city's Spanish heritage. In true California fashion, we celebrated the only way we knew how, with Mexican food, Mariachi bands, and when we could lots and lots of Modelo's and Margarita's!
